The Area

The town of Javea is located in the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. It lies equidistant between Valencia and Alicante airports (at a distance of 105 km). Both airports are well served by several charter and scheduled flight operators.

Los Olivos is in the area of Javea known as Los Tosals, 1.5 km from the old town centre. The nearest bar/restaurant is a short 700-metre stroll away and you can walk into the fascinating historic centre of Javea within 25 minutes.

There are more restaurants within a 5 minute drive of the villa and many more just a 10 minute drive away (3.5 km). These include the seafront restaurants, cafes and bars in Javea Port, still a working fishing port and home to a large yachting marina.

The sandy Arenal beach, popular with the majority of holidaymakers, is 6.5 km from Los Olivos but there are several pebble beaches such as Playa de la Grava just 3.5 km away and more secluded coves such as La Granadella at approximately 11 km.

Walking is popular (routes in English are available from the Tourist Offices in the town or port), so are boat trips (available from the Arenal beach to Denia in the north, or Calpe and Altea to the south). Tennis, jet skiing, snorkeling and exploring the extremely attractive local landscapes, beaches and nearby villages are just some of the other activities on offer.

The weekly outdoor markets are also well visited; in Javea (every Thursday) and many of the nearby villages on different days. The nearest coastal towns are all worth visiting, Denia to the north, Moraira, Calpe and Altea to the south and all can be done in a morning or afternoon.

The old town is really still the most traditional and authentic Spanish part of Javea with a wonderful covered market open six days a week, where you can buy fresh fish, meat, chicken, vegetables, bread and all groceries. Nearby within its pedestrianised centre are some of the very best tapas bars and cafes offering great value.
